About the role

  • Territory management, pipeline development, and day-to-day execution across Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky
  • Focus on growth and retention of assets among RIAs with $500M+ in AUM
  • Execute custom strategies tailored to large firms to drive market share and net cash flow
  • Engage predominantly in-person (60%+) and via virtual visits, phone calls, and industry events
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of high-quality sales opportunities (approximately 150 high-priority clients)
  • Position Vanguard fixed income and indexed products consultatively; leverage capital markets and investment management expertise
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans focused on depth over breadth to increase retention and asset growth
  • Collaborate in a 1:1 partnership with an internal sales executive and build relationships across client organizations
  • Support event strategy, expand fields of play, and bring Vanguard capabilities to clients
  • Coach and support less experienced sales executives and internal stakeholders
  • Use data and insights to prioritize efforts, manage administrative responsibilities, and contribute to corporate initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum ten years related experience
  • At least five years on experience selling into the Registered Investment Advisor channel
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 required
  • Candidate must be currently based in Indianapolis or Detroit, or willing to relocate
  • Territory covers Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky (willingness to travel frequently)
  • Existing relationships and connectivity in the Indy or Detroit RIA market strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of fixed income markets and fixed income investment landscape preferred
  • CFA preferred
  • Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position (must be authorized to work in the U.S.)
  • Ability to conduct 60%+ of interactions in-person
