About the role
- Interact with experienced development team members to understand the scope and intent of assignments
- Translate feature concepts into software design and prototypes and complete peer reviews
- Develop and optimize feature functionality to meet design specifications and resolve software issues found during testing
- Pay special consideration to scale, throughput and performance while developing product features
- Debug issues in previously released software deliveries and support reported issues
- Report directly to an R&D Technical Manager within the Network Automation organization and participate in early-stage R&D initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Networking with a focus on Optical Networking
- Internship experience in software development and building prototypes in the context of optical networking
- Internship experience with technologies like Python, Spring, Java, and JavaScript
- Experience building client-server architecture-based applications
- Understanding of scale, throughput, and performance-related considerations for web applications
- Fluency in English with solid written and oral communication skills
- (Nice to have) Previous intern or co-op experience at Nokia
