About the role
- SDET for Citi Global Markets building automated data quality checks and pipeline validation. Ensuring accurate trading, pricing, risk, and post-trade data for regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automated data quality checks for real-time and batch trading data
- Monitor and validate data pipelines supporting trade execution, pricing models, risk analytics, and post-trade settlement
- Partner with trading desks, quantitative teams, and data engineers to identify, analyze, and resolve complex data anomalies
- Build and maintain solutions for data profiling, lineage tracking, and metadata management to ensure data traceability and auditability
- Integrate data validation rules and automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Conduct root cause analysis for data quality issues and drive corrective and preventative actions
- Ensure data quality processes and solutions adhere to global financial regulations and internal compliance standards
- Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud Engineering to optimize and scale data quality solutions in cloud environments
- Leverage and integrate AI/ML-based anomaly detection models to proactively identify data inconsistencies
- Provide support for UAT processes and product rollouts to ensure data quality readiness
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with a strong focus on data quality in backend testing
- Strong experience in test automation using Java for backend systems and API testing
- Hands-on experience in developing automation scripts using Python
- Proficiency in SQL for complex data validation, querying large datasets, and data manipulation
- Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills for debugging complex data quality issues
- Demonstrated experience embedding data quality tests and automation within DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with cloud environments and optimization (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with data profiling, lineage tracking, and metadata management
- Experience with AI/Machine Learning-based anomaly detection models (leveraging or integrating)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
