About the role
- Transmission Line Design QA/QC Engineer focusing on reviewing and ensuring compliance of transmission line designs. Supporting modeling and analysis activities using industry-standard tools in Mesa, AZ.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of transmission line design packages
- Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Complete Transmission Line Design QA/QC checklists for assigned projects
- Review transmission line components including: Pole locations, Pole types and structure configurations, Framing callouts, Structure heights and clearances
- Perform PLS-CADD modeling and analysis for overhead transmission line designs
- Assist in validating design assumptions and engineering calculations
- Support engineering teams in resolving design issues identified during QA/QC review
- Conduct engineering reviews of encroachment and attachment requests affecting transmission line assets
- Ensure proposed attachments or modifications meet safety and design requirements
- Participate in meetings with engineering teams, construction personnel, and external stakeholders
- Support coordination between design, engineering, and project management teams
- Conduct site visits and field walkdowns as needed to support project evaluation and design verification
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Experience with overhead transmission line design
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, design packages, and technical documentation
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a project team
