About the role
- Import Analyst handling international supplier communications and overseeing product import logistics. Responsible for documentation, invoicing, and financial interface throughout the import process.
Responsibilities
- Liaising with suppliers in China
- Obtaining quotes for international products
- Monitoring imports from purchase order placement to arrival at the factory
- Preparing shipping marks for packages according to requirements
- Coordination with Finance for foreign exchange (FX) settlement
- Verifying import documents (invoice, packing list, HBL) with the customs broker
- Requesting international freight quotes and checking freight invoices
- Performing fiscal classification of items to be imported and preparing item descriptions for registration in the Import Declaration (DI)
- Recording import invoices and issuing shipment invoices to customers
- Calculating estimated landed cost and final cash settlement
Requirements
- Knowledge of taxes is a plus
- Degree in, or currently studying, International Trade or a related field
- Intermediate to advanced English for written communication
