Responsibilities
Global responsibility and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the procurement of technically complex components
Ongoing analysis of global sourcing markets to derive opportunities and risks for the procurement strategy
Identification, qualification and development of suppliers and the establishment of a strong portfolio of preferred suppliers
Development and implementation of a global commodity strategy in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to realize cost reductions and ensure supply security
Identification of process optimization potentials and implementation of measures to realize savings across different time horizons
Execution of global tenders, preparation of benchmark analyses, as well as costing and negotiation of contracts at the international level
Definition of targets and budget for the commodity and ensuring the achievement of objectives
Close cooperation with supplier quality to continuously improve delivery performance and quality
Development and implementation of a robust risk management approach for the commodity
Requirements
Degree in engineering or business administration, e.g. Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
Several years of experience in procurement of commodity groups such as forged parts within a mechanical engineering environment
Strong technical understanding as well as excellent analytical and conceptual skills
Experience in leading international teams in a functional capacity and in implementing change processes
Solution-oriented handling of conflicts and consistent pursuit of objectives
Effective teamworking even under high workload and in stressful situations
Openness to intercultural collaboration and global working
Willingness to undertake regular international travel
Business-fluent English; additional foreign languages are an advantage
