About the role

  • Responsible for payroll administration, accounting, compliance, reporting and analysis for the State of Texas and UT System Group Insurance programs\n• Process and ensure the timeliness and accuracy of payroll deductions\n• Responsible for monthly benefit accounting closeout process including reporting, vouchers and remittances for the UT System Group Insurance Programs for UT Austin employees, Retirees, Surviving Dependents and Graduate Student Fellows\n• Review insurance related payroll processing reports and run integrations as needed to support payroll processing\n• Coordinate with Human Resources, the UT-System Office of Employee Benefits, Academic Health Plans, and the eBITS technical team to resolve issues\n• Provide customer support related to payroll deductions\n• Process payroll adjustments and refunds for insurance adjustments\n• Analyze system requirements and business process changes needed to comply with laws and policies\n• Collaborate with team members to gain efficiencies in workflow; help evaluate, test and implement changes as needed\n• Reconcile consolidated bill and insurance remittance accounts to the general ledger balance on a monthly basis, resolve issues, and prepare adjusting journal entries, payroll adjustments and refunds as required\n• Remit premiums monthly for the UT System Group Insurance Programs and for the Academic Health Plan for UT Austin graduate student employees and fellows\n• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with related experience in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration\n• At least 5 years of experience in finance or accounting with experience in planning, forecasting and financial analysis\n• Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service in a large organization\n• Professional demeanor with experience employing diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality in all business matters\n• Must be authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing, full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship\n• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate\n• Preferred: Experience with DEFINE, Workday, and/or Benefitfocus\n• Preferred: Fluent in Spanish\n• Required Materials: Resume/CV, 3 work references (at least one from a supervisor), Letter of interest\n• Finalists will be required to complete a criminal history background check
