About the role

  • Prepare statutory financial statements and lead balance sheet reporting for the Irish Distillers Group.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and HQ consolidation teams.
  • Act as Polaris Balance Sheet Lead, overseeing balance sheet reporting in Polaris and ensuring accurate uploads.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet data in SAP and reconcile allocated balance sheet accounts.
  • Coordinate completion of balance sheet appendices across the finance team.
  • Book IAS19 pension adjustments in line with actuarial reports and maintain IFRS16 lease accounting.
  • Maintain master data for GL accounts and cost centres.
  • Lead the quarterly balance sheet close process and support month end activities.
  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements and regulatory returns and ensure timely CSO filings.
  • Coordinate audit activities as main point of contact for external auditors (group and statutory).
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements and support internal control frameworks.
  • Collaborate with P&L, Tax, and Treasury teams and participate in cross-functional transformation and optimisation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 1–2 years PQE.
  • Top 10 audit firm experience preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in SAP and MS Excel; strong IT aptitude.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Strong understanding of business needs and ability to align reporting accordingly.
