- Responsible for review and analysis of underwriting data to build and maintain a profitable book of business
- Manages agency relationships through customer service and marketing activities
- Implements business plan in accordance with underwriting direction, standards and goals
- Contributes as a technical expert in underwriting activities and industry knowledge
- May lead and mentor a team of underwriters
- Collaborates with colleagues to achieve divisional goals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of management and Financial Institutions D&O/Fiduciary underwriting experience
- Technical knowledge and skills reflective of progression of positions of increasing responsibility
- Strong presentation skills and a solutions and service orientation
- Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Software proficiency applicable to department
- Rich network of agent and broker relationships throughout FI landscape
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Underwriting and industry designations applicable to area of specialization
