About the role

  • Provide fuel cell service during field visit dispatches
  • Operate a service vehicle safely and maintain service vehicle and spare part inventory
  • Create daily workflows from scheduled tasks and work autonomously
  • Manage on-site preventative maintenance, repair, test, and diagnostic tasks
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine/implement proper solutions
  • Follow company procedures and protocols and execute against written and verbal procedures and sequenced work instructions
  • Cooperate with a technical team, share information across the organization, and maintain/build positive relationships with customers
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports as required
  • Report to Northeast Region Field Service Manager and Remote/Field Office in Connecticut
  • Two initial training sessions required in San Jose, CA (up to four weeks each)

Requirements

  • High school diploma & 6 years’ experience in electrical, process controls, or electro-mechanical fields OR Technical diploma/Journeyman/Electrician Certification + 4 years relevant industry experience OR 5+ years relevant commercial electrical experience combined with electrical-related military experience
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting/diagnostic skills
  • Familiar with safety standards, especially those related to electrical work (OSHA & NFPA 70E)
  • Prior experience with three-phase systems, uninterruptible power supplies, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, automatic transfer switches, and microprocessor based control platforms
  • Experience with various electrical/electronic test and measurement equipment
  • Able to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and blueprints
  • Experience performing equipment maintenance in accordance with ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical Power
  • Mechanical system aptitude, including troubleshooting/repair skills
  • Able to regularly handle equipment up to 50lbs., occasionally up to 70 lbs.; reach, squat, bend, twist; use a ladder or stepstool regularly
  • Able to facilitate 24X7 on-call duty, shift work, alternative schedules, and regular overtime
  • Able to regularly travel (drive) throughout a large Service District and occasionally to other US and international destinations
  • Maintain a driving record in good standing
  • Required to reside within the Service District
