About the role

  • You will be traveling to customer’s home and handling claims virtually.
  • Handle escalated claims files that have complex contents.
  • Conduct a thorough coverage investigation of the loss and ensure the policy was applied correctly.
  • On site inspecting as well as using advanced video technology to collaborate with onsite vendors to identify damages and write a contents damage estimate.
  • Communicate empathetically with customers and help them through their claim process in a fast, fair and easy manner.
  • Negotiate claim settlements with customers in accordance with business unit standard methodologies.
  • Coordinate with structure adjusters to ensure holistic handling of the claim file.
  • Use data and analytics to tell a story and influence decision making.
  • Investigate property claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
  • Use phone, emails and sometimes even video chat with customers to manage claim communication and updates.
  • Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third party carriers and claimants.
  • Utilize multiple tools including estimate tools, job aids, and additional settlement platforms; keep timely and accurate documentation in a claims system.

Requirements

  • Must reside in either the Yuma, AZ area or San Diego, CA area.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Notice of Licensing Requirement: As a condition of employment, your office/area may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or an appraiser license which includes passing an additional background check with the Department of Labor; if applicable, you will be required to secure license(s) within 60 days of hire.
  • The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
  • Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position.
  • Preferred: prior experience using estimating software like Xactimate for complex contents estimating.
  • Preferred: Previous experience handling property insurance claims.
  • Value providing an effortless customer service experience and the ability to work independently starting your day from home.
  • Are organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Are known for clear and professional communication – both written and verbal.
