Field Property Contents Adjuster at Allstate conducting onsite inspections, estimating damages, negotiating settlements, and coordinating claims handling for homeowners in Yuma, AZ or San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities

You will be traveling to customer’s home and handling claims virtually.
Handle escalated claims files that have complex contents.
Conduct a thorough coverage investigation of the loss and ensure the policy was applied correctly.
On site inspecting as well as using advanced video technology to collaborate with onsite vendors to identify damages and write a contents damage estimate.
Communicate empathetically with customers and help them through their claim process in a fast, fair and easy manner.
Negotiate claim settlements with customers in accordance with business unit standard methodologies.
Coordinate with structure adjusters to ensure holistic handling of the claim file.
Use data and analytics to tell a story and influence decision making.
Investigate property claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
Use phone, emails and sometimes even video chat with customers to manage claim communication and updates.
Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third party carriers and claimants.
Utilize multiple tools including estimate tools, job aids, and additional settlement platforms; keep timely and accurate documentation in a claims system.

Must reside in either the Yuma, AZ area or San Diego, CA area.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Notice of Licensing Requirement: As a condition of employment, your office/area may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or an appraiser license which includes passing an additional background check with the Department of Labor; if applicable, you will be required to secure license(s) within 60 days of hire.
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.

Preferred: prior experience using estimating software like Xactimate for complex contents estimating.
Preferred: Previous experience handling property insurance claims.

The training program is designed to help you build a claims foundation and understand the systems and processes in your day-to-day work.
Ongoing training opportunities for continuous improvement happen regularly on the job.
Total compensation comprised of base compensation plus incentive pay (i.e. commission, bonus, etc.) as applicable for the role.
Company car may qualify for this role based on Company Car Guidelines; you may be required to use your personal vehicle until guidelines are met.
Mileage reimbursements for personal vehicle usage during work.
