Responsibilities
Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity
Contributes to team decision-making in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities
Deals with changing priorities and differing situations and makes decision that may affect the work of the team
Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to well-defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity
Conducts engineering and related studies. Completes routine engineering projects with minimal oversight with increasing ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces; increasingly competent to design, operate and maintain systems with moderate impact on existing systems
Possesses and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures; proficient in technical and analytical competencies
Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
four (4) or more years related work experience
In lieu of Bachelor’s degree(s) AND 4 year(s) related work experience, Bachelor’s degree in another field of study and Masters in Engineering
Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam (preferred)
Increasingly proficient in principles of project management (preferred)
Experience in the utility industry (preferred)
Department specific experience applicable to the hiring department (preferred)
Demonstrated advancing application of engineering theories and principles (preferred)
Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing and presenting recommendations (preferred)
Extensive experience with General Electric Grid EMS/DMS systems (preferred)
In Depth knowledge of NERC CIP cyber security standards (preferred)
Broad experience with Electric Transmission systems, including NERC transmission reliability standards (BA, TOP, etc.) (preferred)
Comprehensive experience with real time computer systems, including programming languages (C++, FORTRAN, etc.), scripting languages (PERL, etc.) (preferred)
Excellent written and oral communication skills (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to form and maintain positive working relationships with teammates, peers and clients (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to develop processes/procedures for new technologies or changing business needs (preferred)
