POD Lead managing software delivery across Agile Squads in a hybrid role. Aligning technology and business objectives within Mercer, a global leader in risk and people solutions.
Responsibilities
Run the software delivery for your POD ensuring adherence to organizational framework(s) for getting software through from requirements to working in production
Own End-to-end Delivery of software Product from requirements process to production support
Be Responsible for aligning with the strategic objectives and operating model for Agile delivery, in particular the Quality Engineering transformation and the shift towards the implementation of T-Shaped Engineering practices
Make outcomes that lead to project success, and work with Product Owner and Business Analysts to help project team prioritize and groom backlog in order to deliver an Alpha early and then continue to deliver value often throughout the project lifecycle to staging and production environments
Be a leader for between 4-8 squads: around 30 – 70 people
Ensure our Agile@Scale governance and ceremonies are in place and effective
Identify and work towards eliminating blockers swiftly
Ensure your PODs are motivated, collaborative, efficient and empowered
Ensure our standard metrics are visible and actively being used to drive decisions and improvements
Maintain a continuous flow of work considering full lifecycle of a product including tech debt, obsolescence, security and modernization
Own the Continuous Improvement backlog for your POD(s) covering the following pillars - time to market, efficiency and quality
Provide regular, crisp updates to Stakeholders
Conduct Product Increment Planning Sessions at Quarterly or other defined frequency
Manage the integration of AI solutions into existing products and new developments, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and enhancing overall product functionality
Assigned 1 or more workstreams leadership opportunities that will deliver cross-functional benefits to our organization
Requirements
Significant organisational Agile transformation experience and be able to demonstrate proven strategies.
Previous experience of Agile Programme management e.g (RTE role)
A broad technical understanding to support your Agile credentials from software architecture through test, DevOps practices, security and operational run
Solid understanding of Software Development, Architecture, Test Engineering and Security best practice in an Agile environment
A metrics driven approach to delivery evaluation and drive out systems and processes that help define and report on the metrics we believe to be important
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Experience of working with and motivating distributed teams
Collaborative, inquisitive, and interested in technology and best practices
A recognized Agile Expert intimately familiar with the processes and practices required for successful and sustainable delivery.
Familiarity with AI technologies, models, etc and use it for both engineering and business efficiency.
Min 16 years of Experience spanning across a range of Technology roles
Experience of managing various types of projects – development, maintenance, support, transformation, tech migration.
Experience of working/managing delivery of technology solutions using Dot-Net, Angular, Sql, workflow automation, Cloud, Containers, APIs, Github, Co-pilot
Experience of using ADO as tool for managing work through its full life-cycle
Rounded and holistic understanding of Agile Methodologies
Certifications such as CSM, CSP, Scrum@Scale, Leading Agile, SAFe-RTE or their equivalent
