About the role

Responsibilities
- You coordinate database updates with service providers and independently test them beforehand
- You identify optimization opportunities in the database environment
- You monitor the load and health of the server farm, networks and services using appropriate metrics and sensors
- You maintain an overview of the existing tools and products
- You configure log events so that you receive the necessary information about the system’s state
- You support the expansion of our server farm in collaboration with our service provider
- You roll out updates on the server farm together with our service provider and test them first in test environments
- You participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and take primary responsibility for incident resolution at night and on weekends (approx. 1 week per month)
Requirements
- Extensive, long-standing database experience with MariaDB / Galera
- Several years of experience in Linux system administration
- Strong expertise in collecting and defining metrics for server infrastructures
- Fluent German (at least C1) and good English skills
- Enjoys collaborating with software developers
- Able to independently learn and work on new technical areas
