About the role

  • Data Engineer designing, developing, and managing data structures and pipelines for healthcare analytics at CVS Health. Collaborating with teams to implement cutting-edge technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop large scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data to generate insights and addresses reporting needs
  • Write ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) processes, design database systems, and develop tools for real-time and offline analytic processing that improve existing systems and expand capabilities
  • Collaborate with development team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes
  • Test and maintain systems and troubleshoot malfunctions; leverage knowledge of Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and designing and optimizing queries to build data pipelines
  • Utilize programming skills in Python, Java, SQL or similar languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems
  • Build data marts and data models to support developers and other internal customers
  • Integrate data from a variety of sources and ensure adherence to data quality and accessibility standards; analyze current information technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions to complex business problems
  • Experiment with available tools and advise on new tools to provide optimal solutions that meet the requirements dictated by the model/use case
  • Utilize analytics expertise to collaborate with key leaders in identifying new use cases that align with company goals
  • Convert SSRS Reports to Power Bi, creating new reports
  • Promote knowledge sharing and provide input on the technology stack

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data analysis for health care industry, products, or systems
  • 3+ years of Zero copy, Advance Power BI, Databricks, Python, SSRS & SSIS, Hadoop and Hive, MicroStrategy or Tableau experience
  • 3+ years of experience with traditional relational data warehouse technologies such as Oracle, Teradata, or DB2
  • 3+ years of GPU or CPI Infrastructure component experience
  • 3+ years of designing data models and solutions for analytical and reporting use cases
  • 2+ years of knowledge of cloud based and on-prem data warehousing services
  • 2+ years of providing domain support for healthcare organizations
  • 2+ years working in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
