About the role

  • Lead and support a team of approximately 30 staff, one-third based in the UK and two-thirds in South Africa including field engineers.
  • Ensuring high performance, development and engagement.
  • Oversee daily operations remotely, ensuring smooth workflows and consistent service quality.
  • Develop and implement operational processes, policies and KPIs to optimise efficiency and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate scheduling, resource allocation and job prioritisation across multiple teams.
  • Monitor operational and financial performance, reporting regularly to the Director/Board.
  • Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in operational leadership, within maintenance, facilities, or building services.
  • Strong background in managing both office and field-based teams, including remote leadership.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with KPIs, budgeting, resource management and process improvement.
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to guide, mentor and support teams remotely.
  • Familiarity with UK operational, regulatory and health & safety standards.
  • Solid technical understanding of multi-trade maintenance services.
  • Experience supporting international or cross-border operations is advantageous.
