About the role

  • Lead teams to deliver subsea engineering projects on behalf of clients.
  • Lead the design of subsea systems to applicable codes and standards.
  • Lead the analysis of subsea pipelines and cables across a variety of load conditions.
  • Work within proposal and project teams to successfully deliver high quality and value outcomes.
  • Evaluate, organise and prioritise workload including overseeing Subsea Engineers and providing regular feedback.
  • Manage delivery of scopes for client deliverables including design calculations, analysis models, specifications, study reports and presentations.
  • Mentor the development of other subsea engineers.
  • Actively participate in training to pursue continuing professional development.
  • Take a lead role in the continuous improvement of digital design tools.
  • Execute projects across the energy transition spectrum, including pipeline design for hydrocarbons, power, carbon capture and hydrogen transmission.

Requirements

  • BEng / MEng Mechanical Engineering Related Degree or equivalent.
  • Professional Chartered Status (or working towards attainment of this) preferred.
  • Extensive experience of subsea engineering for the Oil & Gas upstream industry.
  • Experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Experience in subsea engineering design, including pipelines, risers, subsea systems and cables for energy transmission including hydrocarbons, power, carbon dioxide and hydrogen transmission.
  • Experience of integrity management work scopes, including Fitness for Service, Integrity Assessments, Life Extension studies.
  • Experience of co-ordination of pipeline operational support scopes.
  • Ability to work in an organised manner both individually and as part of a team, including across multi-discipline delivery teams.
  • Proven leadership characteristics, enthusiasm and a strong attention to detail & delivery.
  • Experience in project management and project controls.
  • Technical knowledge in related disciplines to manage key project interfaces (e.g. with flow assurance, process engineering, technical safety and risk).
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills (written and oral).
  • Offshore experience and certification advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in use of FEA tools such as OrcaFlex and/or Abaqus advantageous but not essential.
