About the role

  • Communications Specialist developing and executing strategies for Office for Research & Innovation at Duke University. Ensuring clear outreach and fostering a connected research community.

Responsibilities

  • develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that promote OR&I initiatives
  • establish and manage standards, workflows, and processes for communications
  • create, edit, and oversee development of content for distribution
  • lead the development and publication of OR&I’s Annual Report

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications, English or related field
  • four years of experience in journalism, public relations, marketing or related field
  • experience posting and publishing through print and electronic mediums, including content management systems
  • communications, analytical and organizational skills necessary to manage and coordinate a variety of tasks
  • experience working in an academic environment is preferred
