CloudOps Engineer supporting a Public Sector client with cloud environments using infrastructure-as-code languages. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure platform availability and reliability.
Responsibilities
Utilise infrastructure-as-code to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
Monitor and troubleshoot cloud services to identify and resolve operational issues in a timely manner as part of a 24/7 On-Call Rota.
Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.
Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs.
Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications.
Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
Partner with QA & Test to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.
Develop and maintain documentation for customer solutions and operational procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline
Solid experience in relevant field of operations
Ability to program with one or more high level languages, such as Python
Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as ansible or Terraform
Experience with cloud architecture environments, preferably AWS
Proficiency with cloud deployment frameworks such as Kubernetes
Experience with Unix based systems and environments
Experience & knowledge of working with secure systems handling PII/PHI data is desirable
A team-based mentality that focuses on a group’s collective goals and objectives
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to learn and investigate independently when required
A proactive approach to identifying problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
Successful DBS check and Security Clearance will be required
Proficiency in English.
