About the role
- Associate Cloud Engineer working with Library Technology at Vanderbilt University to enhance digital collection discoverability. Collaborating with teams to develop secure applications and manage cloud services.
Responsibilities
- Work in a team environment to design, develop, and maintain modern applications that are secure and assist in making collections discoverable.
- Assist in development of guidelines and documentation for cloud services
- Experiment and implement new software services to enhance collection discovery using current and emerging tools.
- Respond to staff and user technical questions.
- Collaborate with VCIL (Vanderbilt Cloud Innovation Lab) on project as needed
- Assist with workflows related to long term preservation and support.

Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
- Relevant certification in AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with programming languages like Python, PHP, Rails, or JavaScript is required.
- Experience with Cloud computing is required
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge and experience with a variety of digital formats are required.
- Excellent communications skills and a collegial and supportive attitude are required.
