About the role

  • Associate Cloud Engineer working with Library Technology at Vanderbilt University to enhance digital collection discoverability. Collaborating with teams to develop secure applications and manage cloud services.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team environment to design, develop, and maintain modern applications that are secure and assist in making collections discoverable.
  • Assist in development of guidelines and documentation for cloud services
  • Experiment and implement new software services to enhance collection discovery using current and emerging tools.
  • Respond to staff and user technical questions.
  • Collaborate with VCIL (Vanderbilt Cloud Innovation Lab) on project as needed
  • Assist with workflows related to long term preservation and support.
  • Respond to staff and user technical questions.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
  • Relevant certification in AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with programming languages like Python, PHP, Rails, or JavaScript is required.
  • Experience with Cloud computing is required
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge and experience with a variety of digital formats are required.
  • Excellent communications skills and a collegial and supportive attitude are required.
