About the role

Responsibilities
- Handle and analyze files from major loss claims adjusters to establish and maximize subrogation potential, ensuring strict follow-up on case progress;
- Negotiate settlements with third parties to recover indemnity, taking into account applicable liability proportions or depreciation;
- Produce litigation summaries and collaborate closely with the legal department;
- Ensure prudent management of fees and external costs and promote proactive handling of disputed files;
- Attend settlement conferences and trials;
- Properly annotate and document files in accordance with company standards and guidelines;
- Participate in catastrophe response as needed;
Requirements
- Certified Claims Adjuster (5A)
- Required experience: Minimum 5 years in property claims settlement adjusting and 3 years in recovery or liability
- Postsecondary diploma in a field relevant to the position or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Studies in legal techniques or law (an asset)
- Bilingual (French and English)
