About the role
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission and long-term goals.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ensure budgetary compliance throughout the fiscal year.
- Monitor financial performance and provide regular reports to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Oversee all financial transactions of the organization.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and potential financial risks.
- Ensure proper financial controls and procedures are in place to safeguard assets and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage the organization's investment portfolio to optimize returns while maintaining a prudent risk profile.
- Develop and execute cash management strategies to ensure sufficient liquidity for ongoing operations and future initiatives.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements.
- Oversee all financial audits.
- Present financial reports and updates to the Board of Directors, assisting them in understanding financial data and making informed decisions.
- Identify and assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Monitor insurance coverage and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Oversee the finance team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and open communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in financial management, with at least 2 years of recent non-profit experience
