About the role

  • Oversee and improve performance, productivity, efficiency, and quality of the bookkeeping team's client work
  • Ensure consistent achievement of operational KPIs and deliver outstanding quality client outcomes
  • Inspire, motivate, and lead team to ensure operational excellence and high employee engagement
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor both onshore and offshore bookkeeping team members; participate in hiring, training, and performance management
  • Manage workflow and prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines and KPIs are consistently met
  • Improve and oversee bookkeeping operations including bank reconciliations, payroll, supplier payments, invoicing, and financial reporting using best practice and current technologies
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships; manage onboarding, regular communication, and act as the first point of escalation for client issues
  • Collaborate with managers and stakeholders on process improvements, service quality, and cross-functional projects
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, internal policies, and industry standards at all times

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and organisational skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3–6 years’ experience
  • Xero Advisor accreditation and advanced Xero knowledge
  • Advanced Asana knowledge
  • Leadership experience; experience in public accounting highly regarded
