About the role

• Manager of Billing overseeing billing operations for Callen-Lorde, a leader in LGBTQ+ healthcare. Ensuring compliance and guiding a team to optimize revenue collection processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and guiding staff to ensure accurate, timely third-party revenue collection, including insurance verification and Medicaid authorizations
• Overseeing hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations for billing staff
• Maintaining the security, accuracy, and integrity of electronic and paper billing systems
• Collaborating with providers, finance, patient access services, and payers to resolve operational issues quickly and effectively
• Driving quality improvement initiatives within the department

Requirements

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
• CPC, CCS, or CBCS certification
• 5+ years’ medical billing and coding experience, 4+ years of supervisory experience
• Ability to lead, train, and mentor teams on complex processes
• Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, ACA plans, and private insurance
• Proficiency with EPIC EHR and Microsoft Office Suite
