Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all contract documentation, providing expert guidance from pre-tender through to post-contract stages.
Draft and issue clear contractual correspondence to clients and subcontractors.
Build and maintain strong post-contract relationships with design teams and clients.
Lead material procurement strategies and negotiate subcontractor agreements to maximize value.
Ensure timely submission of interim valuations, payments, and certification of subcontractor accounts.
Manage and resolve variations to protect and enhance project value.
Certify final accounts and agree settlements with clients.
Conduct cost-value reconciliations and monitor project financial performance through regular reporting.
Track project schedules to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
Drive the growth, development, and performance of the commercial team.
Requirements
HNC/HND/BSc in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
Chartered status or RICS membership is highly desirable
Strong understanding of commercial management across the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to final account
In-depth knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT, NEC) and the ability to provide clear contractual guidance
Experienced in managing multiple projects with a keen eye for detail
Experience in subcontract procurement, variations, and final accounts
Ability to support delivery teams and drive project performance
Full UK driving license is essential
