About the role

• Backend Software Engineer leading architecture and team decisions for scalable solutions at HypeFlame Tecnologia. Collaborating with Product and Engineering in a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership and team orchestration;
• Design, develop and evolve scalable, resilient and secure backend solutions in Java.
• Act as the squad's Tech Lead, serving as the technical focal point and promoting alignment between Product, Engineering and Architecture.
• Work in partnership with architects to define standards, practices and the long-term vision for systems.
• Lead refactoring initiatives, code reviews and the evolution of critical components.
• Ensure the quality, scalability and security of delivered solutions.
• Organize and prioritize the technical backlog in alignment with PO/PM and technology management.
• Orchestrate the team in technical decisions, breaking down complex requirements into viable and sustainable deliveries.
• Anticipate and remove technical impediments, ensuring flow and predictability in delivery.
• Promote modern software engineering practices (clean code, TDD, continuous integration, observability).
• Mentor developers and foster an environment of continuous learning, autonomy and technical excellence.

Requirements

• Experience as a Tech Lead, Chapter Lead, or primary technical authority, driving architectural decisions and providing technical leadership.
• Strong experience with Java 8+ and the Spring ecosystem (Boot, Security, Data, etc.).
• Proficiency with microservices, RESTful APIs and OAuth2/JWT authentication.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis).
• Hands-on experience with messaging in distributed systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with agile methodologies, primarily Scrum.
• Managing the technical backlog and interacting with PMs/POs.
• Defining and monitoring technical metrics (e.g., throughput, lead time, cycle time).
• Ability to mentor and promote best practices within the team.
• Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field.
• Proficiency in technical English for reading and writing.
