About the role

  • Assistant General Counsel handling commercial transactions for AIG’s global operations. Drafting and negotiating agreements while collaborating with business stakeholders and legal experts.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements
  • Partnering directly with business and procurement teams to support day-to-day contracting needs
  • Providing clear, timely guidance on contract terms, legal risks, and company policies
  • Coordinating with subject matter experts in privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory, insurance, and intellectual property law
  • Improving contract templates, playbooks, and processes to streamline turnaround times and enhance efficiency.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission to the bar
  • 5+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities at once, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • A sound, pragmatic, business-minded approach – focused on delivering high-quality, practical solutions on time.
