About the role

  • Lead, motivate and develop the AR team to achieve targets and maintain high engagement
  • Oversee daily AR operations and queries, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Monitor aged debt reports, identify risks and implement proactive collection strategies
  • Manage key customer relationships, particularly within the public sector
  • Act as an escalation point for complex or high-value queries
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Sales and Customer Success to streamline processes
  • Provide regular reporting and insights on AR performance, trends and opportunities
  • Contribute to cashflow forecasting and complete key balance sheet reconciliations
  • Drive continuous improvement across AR processes to boost efficiency and accuracy

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading or supervising an Accounts Receivable team
  • A strong track record working with public sector customers and their billing requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a focus on motivation and accountability
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with confidence managing multiple priorities
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort with data-driven decision making
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to adapt to change
  • Bonus points if you bring:
  • Experience using NetSuite
  • A background in SaaS or subscription-based business models
  • A history of implementing process improvements in finance operations
  • Knowledge of financial compliance or audit requirements
