About the role

  • Organize, manage and work respective territory to maximize sales revenue and profitability
  • Maintain current business in existing accounts and identify and close new business opportunities
  • Identify and close new business opportunities within specified territory
  • Incorporate GPO, IDN, National Clinical Reference Lab and Local Healthcare Delivery Network strategies into territory sales plan
  • Achieve sales plan in all Focus Product categories and meet weekly sales call targets
  • Develop territory growth plan, build account strategies and tactics to achieve revenue targets
  • Use CRM monthly forecast tool to measure, track and plan new business opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to improve the customer experience and drive sales growth
  • Educate medical staff on product benefits and provide product demonstrations and support
  • Maintain relationships with distribution partners within territory
  • Accurately update CRM daily with account activities, opportunities, and decision makers
  • Maintain company car, sales samples, literature, product manual, and company equipment
  • Complete and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to Sales Management
  • Manage customer inquiries, resolve issues, and escalate when appropriate
  • Plan territory coverage, may include overnight stays and air/car travel up to 50%-80%
  • Loading/unloading vehicles, set-up and tear-down of exhibit booths, and other physical tasks
  • Use PC daily including repetitive keyboard/mouse use; sit/stand for long periods, reach, bend, stoop and lift daily

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare, or Science required
  • At least four years sales experience within a complex selling environment (laboratory diagnostics preferred)
  • Demonstrated consistent sales growth over time
  • Candidate must live in assigned territory
  • Outgoing, professional, consultative, persuasive, relationship building selling skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Confident, persistent, patient and self motivated
  • CRM experience
  • Self-starter, detail oriented, organized and able to prioritize and balance workloads
  • Ability to negotiate and execute contracts
  • Proficient on Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook at intermediate level or higher
  • Superior product knowledge across all product lines
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and administrative skills
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality requirements
  • May be required to work outside normal business hours
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong confidentiality and ethics required
  • Required Travel: 50% to 80% (travel required)
