About the role
- Associate Underwriting Manager leading market facing underwriters and managing growth opportunities at Zurich. Mentor staff and ensure accounts meet organizational appetite.
Responsibilities
- Manage market facing underwriters who proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities
- Identifies new growth opportunities with key distributors for areas of responsibility
- Ensure that accounts are qualified and meet with organization's appetite
- Make agents/broker/customer and on-site calls
- Ensure cross-sell within areas of responsibility
- Mentor staff to develop strong broker and client networks
- Monitor Sales Funnel and Production Metrics of team
- Identify market trends and coverage's exposures that may impact business results
- Work with actuarial to ensure proper rate/price structure
- Manage relationships with producers by conducting line of business analysis
- Support development and maintenance of agent/broker relationships
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 5 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
- 10 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area OR
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area OR
- 7 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area for AVP, Underwriting Manager
- 14 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area for AVP, Underwriting Manager
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- CPCU (preferred)
- Strong presentation skills (preferred)
