About the role

  • Sr. Quality Engineer providing global quality support in automotive electronics. Ensuring robust product and software quality through collaboration and effective problem-solving in Farmington Hills, MI.

Responsibilities

  • Provide global quality support, partnering with headquarters, plants, and customer teams to resolve issues and drive effective problem solving.
  • Collaborate with engineering and program management on design quality activities, including FMEA, DV/PV, gate reviews, and A-SPICE progress to ensure robust product and software quality.
  • Lead and manage APQP deliverables (A3–A8), establish quality plans, safe launch initiatives, and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Conduct and support quality investigations, root cause analysis, PPAC issues, and 8D corrective actions, interfacing with customers and suppliers to implement permanent solutions.
  • Monitor customer quality metrics, warranty data, and QIP reports to identify trends and drive continuous improvement across global plants and customer programs.
  • Establish and maintain quality system procedures, inspection methods, test equipment validation, and statistical/reliability analysis to ensure effective quality control.
  • Serve as a key liaison between quality, engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing teams, promoting communication, lessons learned, and proactive issue prevention.
  • Support customer satisfaction through warranty reviews, site visits, corrective action ownership, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with zero-defect quality objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of customer-facing quality experience supporting automotive electronics programs
  • Strong problem-solving skills with proven ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams at all organizational levels
  • Knowledge of automotive quality standards and tools, including IATF/TS, APQP, SPC, and customer-specific quality requirements
  • Proficiency in metrology, blueprint reading, and standard inspection and measurement techniques
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation, including procedures, inspection instructions, logs, and quality performance reports (PPM)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Reliability and Statistical analysis capability.
