About the role

  • Appian Tester responsible for validating functionality, performance, and security of Appian applications. Creating and executing test plans, collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Appian applications based on business and technical requirements.
  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate workflows, interfaces, and integrations within Appian.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Azure DevOps or similar platforms; collaborate with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform regression testing for new releases and updates to ensure existing functionality remains intact.
  • Validate application performance under various conditions and recommend optimizations where necessary.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts and developers to clarify requirements and ensure accurate test coverage.
  • Maintain detailed test documentation, including test results, defect logs, and quality metrics.
  • Recommend improvements to testing processes and contribute to best practices for Appian quality assurance.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and integrate testing activities into iterative development cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with data security standards and validate secure application behavior.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen residing in the United States and within commuting distance of a KBR site within the Houston or Phoenix area.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 2–3 years of experience in software testing, including Appian applications, or a High School Diploma with 5+ years of experience in testing in lieu of degree.
  • Hands-on experience testing Appian applications, including process models, interfaces, and integrations.
  • Ability to create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for complex workflows and integrations.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps (or similar tools) for defect tracking and test management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly document defects and communicate testing results to stakeholders.
  • Appian Developer Certification
  • Experience with applications related to government services.
  • Physical Asset Management experience and integrations using APIs.
  • Experience with Appian-specific testing tools or automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of low-code platforms and their testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with API testing and integration validation.
  • Experience with SQL for data validation and backend testing.
  • Understanding of Agile development practices and experience working in iterative development environments.
