Responsibilities
Regulatory liaison and advising the site on local, regional, and national laws related to EHS objectives, and collaborating with members of the global EHS team
Supporting the site in establishing systems to achieve and maintain compliance/certifications, including conducting internal EHS audits
Day-to-day EHS support for the plant (e.g., plant approvals, machine safety, hazardous substance management, workplace condition monitoring, organizing EHS Kaizen events with staff, etc.)
Overseeing facility management
Reporting on EHS performance and issues, and developing corrective actions
Delivering EHS training ranging from new-employee inductions and required regulatory topics to regular refreshers for managers, BBS coaches, etc.
Preparing for and participating in regular EHS meetings and EHS management reviews with plant leadership and corporate EHS
Developing and maintaining EHS procedures, work instructions, guidance materials, etc.
Promoting and further developing the safety culture at the plant through interaction with employees at all levels
Requirements
University degree or completed vocational training with relevant professional experience
At least 5–7 years of professional experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial environment
Experience implementing and managing EHS management system requirements and certification standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001)
Basic legal knowledge in environmental, occupational, and health protection
Qualification as a safety specialist
Strong communication skills and excellent written and spoken German and English.
