About the role
- Entry level Associate Security Engineer at Navy Federal securing technical infrastructure and workloads with operational capabilities and threat monitoring practices.
Responsibilities
- To secure technical infrastructure and workloads by designing, and operationalizing capabilities
- Support the implementation of continuous security monitoring practices along with threat and vulnerability prevention, detection, and response capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineers, internal teams, and vendors to support all phases of product integration, operations, and maintenance to ensure a secure Navy Federal environment.
- Conduct routine work assignments of limited scope and complexity under close supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or the equivalent combination of education, training or experience
- College/university degree or 1-2 years of experience in cyber security
- Familiarity with system administration, database administration, network engineering, software engineering, or software development
- Familiarity with SEIM/SOAR technologies
- Familiarity with security operations and cyber-attack methods
- Exposure to security engineering with the ability to design and implement secure systems and network
- Familiarity with multiple cyber security detection/technologies/tools
- Familiarity with a variety of cyber architectures
- Understanding of networking principles. Subnetting, OSI layers, network protocols, etc.
- Problem-Solving: Curious, analytical, and willing to learn new technologies.
- Customer Service Skills: Ability to explain technical issues in simple terms.
- Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability.
- One year of experience as a network engineer (can be substituted with two years of education in related field)
