About the role

• Technical Writer at Wood responsible for developing reports and proposals for industry projects. Collaborating with engineering and SMEs to produce high-quality technical materials in hybrid role.

Responsibilities

• Developing content for proposal submissions – project specific and within established programs
• Developing reports for submission to clients as part of project deliverables
• Developing other technical materials which could include training, change management, processes/procedures
• Reviewing and refreshing proposal content
• Participating as a contributing member of a team, communicating effectively with these members on various tasks and projects as assigned
• Following client-specific and department style guides and writing standards
• Investigating and gathering information required to complete assignments within deadlines
• Interviewing the client or subject matter experts to obtain information
• Communicating with subject matter experts to review content for technical accuracy
• Reporting progress to Project Manager and updating progress trackers

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in technical writing or a related technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience in technical writing
• Strong English reading and writing skills
• Proficiency in MS Office suite
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with SMEs and clients
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Experience with content development tools (e.g., Storyline, Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS) is desirable
• Spanish speaking is an asset but not required
