About the role

  • Substation Commissioning Manager overseeing commissioning of renewable energy projects for WECTEC Staffing Services. Responsible for project reliability and compliance while managing on-site personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure assigned projects' commissioning activities are performed with high quality and follow all safety policies.
  • Responsible for coordination and management of EPC contractor personnel, OEM start-up personnel, third-party start-up contractors, and operations personnel on site, as it relates to site commissioning and startup.
  • Responsible for project reliability at operational turnover with plants exhibiting as little lost time in initial operation.
  • Responsible for compliance with all project contractual documents to include Power Purchase Agreement and Large Generator Interconnect Agreement deliverables with local utility.
  • Ensure Transmission Operators and Independent Service Operators make the interface to ensure project energization dates are achieved.
  • Manage Client's onsite commissioning personnel.
  • Work with project's designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in on-site project support for renewable power generation project construction start up and commissioning
  • 3 years' experience minimum working for an EPC in renewable power generation project construction start up and commissioning
  • Electrical construction and commissioning means and methods knowledge including NEC and NFPA
  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration and troubleshooting
  • E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup and troubleshooting
  • Protection and Controls implementation and troubleshooting
  • Review drawings quality control inspection and Progress reporting
  • Outlook, PDF edit, Word, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), document control systems and PowerPoint
  • Manage third parties and suppliers
  • Manage direct report team members
  • Schedule and planning understanding
