About the role

  • Technical Procurement Specialist responsible for managing costs, schedules, and quality in defined procurement areas. Engaging in project contributions and supplier relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • take responsibility for costs, schedules and quality in defined procurement areas and commodity groups
  • monitor and analyze developments in your procurement markets and derive appropriate category strategies – including well-founded recommendations and decision-making bases together with the relevant stakeholders
  • identify cost-saving opportunities and further develop processes and standards
  • actively contribute to projects – for example in value-engineering processes, in value analyses or as subproject lead for new products
  • negotiate contracts and terms and maintain existing supplier relationships
  • select suitable sourcing channels and suppliers, conduct tenders and perform evaluations together with Quality Management
  • take responsibility for procurement planning and help shape relevant reporting processes
  • actively contribute to supplier management and participate in resolving defects – in close cooperation with Quality Management and suppliers
  • where necessary, make decisions regarding asserting or pursuing compensation claims

Requirements

  • a completed technical or business degree, or comparable qualifications with several years of professional experience in purchasing technical products or components
  • strong technical understanding
  • relevant knowledge in the areas of supplier, project, quality and category management as well as in contract law and procurement logistics
  • good knowledge of common MS Office applications
  • experience working with ERP systems
  • ideally, English language skills
  • strong negotiation skills, initiative and assertiveness
  • willingness to travel domestically and internationally
