About the role
- Software Developer building software solutions for M-Pesa at Vodacom. Collaborate with teams to ensure technical delivery and compliance with business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Build software and product flows and logic based on technical solution designs
- Support the delivery of technical solutions that meet the M-Pesa business requirements
- Ensure compliance with the Global reference and Vodafone Group’s best standards
- Work in close cooperation with Solution Architects
- Design and implement standalone, complex software application/component/document template to support business requirements
- Technical risk/issue ownership and management/resolution during solution delivery
- Collaborate with SCRUM master/Project Manager and members of Agile squad to ensure timely and accurate delivery of requirements
- Ensure that deliverables developed meet the business requirements and quality standards
Requirements
- Financial services experience
- Degree in IT or related field (essential)
- Certified Ethical Hacker certification or CompTIA Security+ (desirable)
- A Java, JavaScript, or Python certification (desirable)
- A fullstack developer nanodegree (desirable)
- Full stack software development and deployment experience, A Java, JavaScript, or Python certification will be a plus
- Knowledge of web-based (ReactJS, Node.js) and service-based architectures (REST), cloud-oriented architectures (AWS, Google Cloud) and micro-services patterns
- Technical knowledge in: Unix based Oss (Admin level), Database Operations and Administration (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Unix based systems, JSON and SOAP APIs, Cryptographic algorithms, IP Networks
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and DevOps in general.
- A desire to make a difference and a proven willingness for continuous learning
- A problem-solving mind-set utilizing technology.
- Experience working with agile methodologies, methods and frameworks. i.e. Scrum or Kanban (essential)
