About the role

  • Lead Back End Developer managing software development for Ticketmaster's global consumer platform. Collaborating with distributed teams to deliver high-quality ticketing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of developers with varying levels and skill sets
  • Participate in and lead development work within globally distributed software teams
  • Provide technical guidance to the team, including architecture and design decisions, code reviews, and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Own the full software development and deployment lifecycle for your team's products
  • Mentor and develop developers through coaching and leadership
  • Work with development management to help define SMART goals for your team and provide constructive feedback
  • Organize, prioritize, and multitask while coordinating team efforts and reporting progress toward objectives to stakeholders and management
  • Engage with a range of stakeholders to gather comprehensive information about the problem at hand and implement short- and mid-term strategies to evolve products toward future success
  • Make technical recommendations beyond the immediate team
  • Debug and triage application issues in production, often for code you did not write
  • Automate testing, deployments, performance monitoring, and recovery processes

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Strong backend development skills
  • Experience with Java 17/21 or related JVM languages
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement clean, scalable, well-structured APIs
  • Experience with modern frameworks such as Spring Boot
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Understanding of continuous integration practices
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in software architecture
  • Prior experience with design patterns and SOLID principles
  • Experience working with AWS or another cloud provider
  • Experience with CI/CD servers (GitLab/Jenkins)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or another orchestration/scheduling framework
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Working knowledge of one or more database products (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
