Responsibilities
The QA Chapter Lead is the Product Owner of Skills Development, who builds expertise in the chapter and develops chapter members.
Enthusiastic about transferring knowledge to others, coaching and oversee personal development.
Responsible to create the Strategy of Testing & maintain the backlog of the chapter, thus will contribute in designing and implementing Vodafone’s high volume and high impact digital and core it channels/platforms.
Ensures knowledge transfer within chapter and boost innovation in testing practices.
Guide a community of Experts that are working within squads.
Allocating resources based on seniority and priority across the organization.
Work with the Tribe and Tech Lead to provide workforce plans for recruitment and development.
Organises interactions between the members of the chapter to nurture best practice and encourage knowledge & tool sharing.
Act as a supporting leader, rather than a line manager, aiming at maturing the organisation readiness, vs. controlling the work.
Provides guidance and harmonization of chapter best-practices (Chapter principles).
Acts as a mentor for Expert members of the chapter, helping them grow in expertise and experience new areas.
Play a pivotal role in inspiring and motivating everyone in the chapter to be the best they can be.
Ensure technical integrity and quality control consistency throughout the development life cycle.
Own test architecture, review test code, and ensure compliance to industry best practices.
Understand functional requirements and help creating user stories with testability in mind.
Responsible for identifying and improving Processes for Testing across Organizations.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in QA Engineering role (3 of which in Automation)
Have a passion for personal and functional development, supporting members to be the best they can be
Agility and willingness to track, assess, and incorporate practice and technology developments into day-to-day working
Looks externally /brings in best practices, experiments, tests, pushes innovation
Able to foster learning around agile ways of working and the overall agile mind-set
Strong relationship building, persuasion, and collaboration skills, acting as enabler for coordination of activities between technical teams and building of cross-functional relationships quickly and confidently
Solid understanding of both object-oriented programming and scripting languages
Experience with version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, etc.),performance, load, and test testing
Expert: a) in Continuous Integration / Deployment design, b) with testing tools and practices on every level in the test pyramid (unit, component, integration)
Can apply a range of techniques to support facilitation, training, coaching and mentoring to guide and manage a group event to ensure that objectives are met effectively
Clear and effective communication skills in English (written and verbal)
Opensource contributing will be considered a plus
