About the role

  • Financial Analyst at Verto managing accounts payable and cash reconciliations. Responsible for financial control, process improvement, and collaboration across teams in Pune.

Responsibilities

  • Owning Accounts Payable: Managing the full invoice processing workflow, entering high-volume invoices into the ERP with accuracy, and ensuring appropriate departmental approvals (PO matching).
  • Managing Cash & Reconciliations: Performing daily and monthly reconciliations of high-volume bank accounts against the general ledger and resolving unexplained charges or missing entries.
  • Vendor & Expense Management: Acting as the primary point of contact for vendor billing inquiries and processing employee expense reports in compliance with company policies.
  • Supporting Month-End: Owning the AP month-end close process, supporting accruals for open POs, and preparing commentary on AP reports.
  • Driving Financial Control: Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and providing documentation/explanations for internal and external auditors during year-end reviews.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing automation to reduce manual work and improve data accuracy as Verto grows.
  • Maintaining Compliance: Ensuring all financial records adhere to internal controls and GAAP, and maintaining purchasing/expense policy documentation.
  • Collaborating: Working with cross-functional teams (Product, Ops, Treasury) to ensure finance is embedded across business processes.

Requirements

  • MBA in Finance or partly/fully qualified CA or CFA.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience, with proven expertise in AP and bank reconciliations.
  • A strong understanding of accounting systems (experience with Xero is highly desirable).
  • Advanced Excel skills (comfortable with large datasets, pivot tables, lookups, and analytical modelling).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and a desire to "get things right."
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate confidently with senior stakeholders globally.
  • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
  • Experience working specifically in Financial Services, Fintech, Payments, or Banking.
  • Experience with high-growth environments where processes are often being built or improved from scratch.
