About the role

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap aligned with executive strategic objectives
  • Translate business needs and market opportunities into actionable product requirements
  • Prioritize features and capabilities based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility
  • Own the product backlog and ensure alignment with company goals and customer outcomes
  • Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
  • Work closely with Scrum Masters and development teams to ensure efficient sprint execution
  • Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and product specifications with Business Analysts
  • Maintain product roadmaps and communicate progress to stakeholders across the SDLC
  • Partner with Business Analysts to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Collaborate with Software Developers, Data Engineers, and Architects to ensure technical feasibility
  • Work with QA teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria
  • Engage with Sales, Client Success, and Marketing teams to ensure market fit and customer satisfaction
  • Understand microservices architecture, APIs (REST), and cloud-based solutions (AWS)
  • Collaborate on data pipeline design, including AWS Glue jobs and MongoDB implementations
  • Evaluate technical trade-offs and dependencies in API design and service orchestration
  • Work with authentication/authorization systems (e.g., Keycloak) and data models (UML-based)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in SaaS, data analytics, or insurance technology
  • Proven track record of delivering complex technical products from concept to launch
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with distributed development teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage product backlogs and drive sprint execution
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Familiarity with API architecture, microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Ability to read technical documentation and engage in technical discussions with engineering teams
  • Understanding of data pipelines, databases (MongoDB, SQL), and ETL processes
  • Experience in insurance, risk assessment, or data analytics industries (preferred)
  • Understanding of property insurance, underwriting, or claims processes (asset)
  • Knowledge of geospatial data, risk modeling, or predictive analytics (nice to have)
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and make data-driven decisions
  • Leadership presence and ability to drive consensus among diverse stakeholders
  • Customer-focused mindset with empathy for end-user needs.
