About the role

Engineering Manager leading Business IT applications and process optimization tasks. Responsible for team coaching and operational support in a dynamic education-focused company.

Responsibilities

Business Applications: Management and further development of all central business tools (e.g., CRM, collaboration, internal platforms) and leadership of the Business Applications area.
Business Process Management: Analysis, mapping and optimization of business processes in close coordination with the specialist departments.
Automation & Integration: Responsibility for cross-system automations and integrations to ensure seamless end-to-end data flows.
Architecture & Governance: Further development of the Business IT architecture, including standards, security and compliance requirements.
Team Building & Leadership: Functional and disciplinary leadership of the entire Business IT area; building, developing and coaching team members.
Operational Contribution: Hands-on support with prioritization, solution design and operational matters — with a growing focus on strategic leadership.

Professional Experience: Several years of experience in Business IT, Business Technology or similar roles; ideally with leadership responsibility.
System & Process Understanding: Strong understanding of business applications, data flows and process modeling (e.g., BPMN).
Automation & Integration Knowledge: Experience with CRM systems, automation platforms and API/integration tools (e.g., Zoho, Airtable, Make).
Technical Literacy: Ability to confidently assess architecture and tooling decisions without needing to do deep development work yourself.
Leadership: Proven ability to build, coach and develop an entire area; clear prioritization and decision-making skills.
Communication: Very good German and English skills; confident in interactions with management, business units and technical teams.
Structure & Ownership: Proactive, structured working style with a strong sense of ownership.
