About the role

  • Product Manager developing new member offerings based on market and community analysis at VDI. Managing projects from idea to execution while ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • You develop new member offerings based on solid market, trend and community analyses and critically refine existing formats — with a focus on impact, relevance and long-term viability.
  • You manage projects and pilot formats from the initial idea through to implementation — with a clear sense of strategy, timing, budget and impact.
  • You assess opportunities and risks and translate insights into concrete recommendations for action.
  • You persuade with strong concepts and cases, prepare decision-making and confidently present results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • You manage external partners and service providers with confidence, ensuring smooth processes and high standards.
  • You ensure the smooth operation of VDI-WoMentorING — our mentoring program by and for female engineers that strengthens careers and networks. This includes, among other tasks, preparing and supporting the application process, organizing and facilitating (digital) workshops and community meetings, and recruiting and retaining partner companies.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Marketing, Product Management or a comparable qualification, combined with at least 2 years of experience in product development, project management or community work.
  • You combine analytical thinking with the ability to execute — strategy, structure and delivery go hand in hand for you.
  • You understand the dynamics of association- or membership-based structures and work confidently with volunteers.
  • You are willing to moderate virtual meetings occasionally in the evenings or at weekends — with time off in lieu — and consider flexibility part of the commitment.
  • You are digitally savvy, communicate clearly, empathetically and inclusively, and enjoy working in a team on topics that matter.

Benefits

  • An association and company culture characterized by appreciation, solidarity and openness, with flat hierarchies
  • Individual onboarding and personal mentoring that support you both personally and professionally during your induction. We also offer company-wide onboarding events.
  • 30 days of vacation, including company holidays on bridge days and between Christmas and New Year, plus a half day off on your birthday (on weekdays)
  • Flexible working hours between 06:00 and 22:00 with a 40-hour workweek
  • Work–life compatibility: the option to work remotely and a solution-oriented approach to family-related challenges
  • Convenient location at Düsseldorf Airport (Airport City) with direct public transport connections
