About the role

  • Commodity Manager responsible for automated tag readers and scales at Vanderlande Logistics. Developing strategies for a resilient supply chain with a focus on procurement processes and supplier management.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the Categories “Automated Tag Readers, Sensors and Scales” for Vanderlande Logistics globally.
  • Develop and implement long-term material field strategies for the global Vanderlande Logistics purchasing volume to increase the added value, ensure a resilient and sustainable supply chain
  • Managing and facilitating a global virtual network of procurement and cross functional colleagues to share best practices and ensure prompt information flow inside Vanderlande Logistics
  • Working closely with Portuguese team, in the daily procurement activities required in the Projects and Bids
  • Maintaining an excellent, leading-edge supplier base and support world-class SCM processes to ensure productivity, quality, delivery reliability and innovation, including escalation and claim management
  • Develop the supplier base in terms of supplier qualifications and development as well as overall supplier relationship management, looking into market analysis and market trends, and being in constant contact with our suppliers
  • Promoting transparency through data and control as well as report on relevant purchasing key figures in the assigned commodities

Requirements

  • University degree in economics or technical degree with business background
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English, spoken and written (mandatory)
  • Advanced level of German is an advantage
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in strategic purchasing preferably in electronic commodities as well as international contracting
  • Experience with pooling activities, procurement methodologies and a very good understanding of economic and business contexts
  • Ability and experience to lead and motivate global virtual teams, preparing and presenting information to senior management level
  • Ability to identify and understand upcoming situations early, analyze potential business impact and develop suitable communication internally and to necessary levels at our suppliers
  • Your self-motivation, self-reliability, excellent communicative skills and willingness to learn
