About the role

  • Network Administrator responsible for administering and supporting complex networks for the U.S. Department of State. Ensuring reliability, security, and performance in a mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support complex and mixed network environments
  • Install, configure, manage, and maintain network infrastructure components
  • Administer network, web, and communication systems to ensure availability and performance
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, and email services
  • Review and maintain security policies in accordance with best practices
  • Maintain servers and network systems, generate monitoring reports and logs
  • Administer and support Microsoft Active Directory environments
  • Support and operate within virtualized environments
  • Perform configuration management and maintain accurate documentation
  • Provide regular activity, status, and progress reports regarding network performance
  • Troubleshoot network-related issues and coordinate with vendor support
  • Communicate effectively with technical teams, management, and customers

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of network administration experience managing complex networks
  • Associate's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience administering LAN, WAN, web, and communication systems
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, managing, and maintaining network and system components
  • Experience administering user accounts, email services, passwords, and security policies
  • Proven experience maintaining servers and generating monitoring reports and logs
  • Solid understanding and experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in virtualized environments
  • Experience with configuration management and documentation of network topologies
  • Experience producing network activity, performance, and progress reports
  • Strong experience interfacing with vendor support organizations
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work as a flexible, highly motivated self-starter.
