About the role

  • Graphics Area Sales Manager managing customer relationships and executing sales strategy for UPM. Collaborating closely with internal teams to drive profitable growth in the graphics sector.

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you drive profitable growth by managing customer relationships, executing our sales strategy, and collaborating closely with colleagues across Sales, Customer Service, Technical Sales, Commercial Support, and other key functions.
  • You lead account planning and forecasting, ensure high‑quality customer interactions, and work in alignment with our agreed best practices.
  • You grow net sales, margin, added value and product mix in line with targets, actively developing both existing business and new customer acquisition within your area.
  • You plan and lead impactful customer meetings – face‑to‑face and virtual – ensuring consistent follow‑up, clear action planning and professional representation of UPM.
  • You manage the customer portfolio to ensure strong profitability, taking corrective actions when needed and documenting agreements, terms and marketing collaborations in compliance with legal requirements.
  • You provide accurate sales forecasts, manage the opportunity pipeline, and communicate new opportunities as well as won or lost business.
  • You use sales tools effectively to keep customer information up to date, monitor receivables, and handle credit‑related documentation where required.
  • You collaborate proactively with the broader organization – including Sales Team members, Customer Service, Markets, Product Management, Product Development & Innovation, Business Control and Marketing – to support customer activity.
  • You participate actively in inquiry handling and claims processes with the aim of resolving customer challenges, while delivering product consultancy, training and support based on customer needs.
  • You develop and maintain strategic account plans, driving the actions required to strengthen partnerships and grow customer business.

Requirements

  • You bring experience or strong understanding of the graphics or related industry and its market dynamics
  • You have a proven track record in B2B field sales and demonstrate solid commercial capabilities
  • You hold a relevant commercial degree and possess the technical understanding needed to work with complex products
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch and English, with additional languages considered an advantage
  • You excel in communication, interpersonal interaction, networking, and prioritizing in a dynamic environment
  • You demonstrate strong self‑leadership and the ability to navigate and support change
  • You have solid knowledge of sustainability fundamentals
  • You are familiar with effective sales methodologies and processes, and apply them consistently to drive results.
