About the role

  • Faculty Operations Coordinator at Torrens University providing operational support to academic management. Coordinating teaching operations, compliance, and financial oversight across faculties.

Responsibilities

  • Provides operational and governance support to the Academic Director – Health & Education.
  • Delivers coordination, analysis, and decision support that enables effective Faculty management and informed, timely decision-making.
  • Ensures the effective coordination and optimisation of teaching and learning operations including subject lifecycle updates, timetabling inputs, and workload planning.
  • Synthesises information from across the Faculty to inform planning, approvals, and operational decision-making.
  • Works closely with academic and professional teams, as well as central departments and campus leadership.
  • Acts as a key point of coordination to navigate complexity, align stakeholders, and ensure clear communication, efficient processes, and compliance with university and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides end-to-end visibility across Faculty operations, including specialist teaching environments (e.g. labs and clinics).
  • Supports the Academic Director in financial and resource oversight, including contributing to the development and maintenance of OPEX and CAPEX tracking mechanisms.

Requirements

  • Relevant undergraduate or postgraduate qualification, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a university (Higher Education) environment, with exposure to Faculty-level operations, academic governance, or teaching and learning administration.
  • Proven experience working within a Faculty context in Higher Education, with the ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and influence outcomes across academic and professional teams.
  • Experience supporting budget tracking, resource planning, or financial reporting processes (e.g. OPEX/CAPEX) within a complex organisation, with the ability to build and maintain tracking tools (e.g. in Excel).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Faculty planning cycles (e.g. teaching allocation, workload planning, or resource planning) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting governance forums or committees (e.g. preparing papers, coordinating inputs, tracking actions) is highly desirable.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret and translate data into clear insights and recommendations that inform operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including formulas and ideally macros), with experience using Excel for data analysis, modelling, and operational reporting.
  • Highly developed organisational and coordination skills, with demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and maintain momentum across multiple concurrent operational activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with incomplete or evolving information, exercising judgement to support decision-making in a complex academic environment.
