About the role

  • Finance Intern working on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities with team oversight. Analyze financial data and collaborate with cross-functional teams for insights and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead components of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and month-end close activities with oversight from finance managers.
  • Perform advanced analysis of results, identify key drivers of variance, and present risks and opportunities with actionable recommendations.
  • Build and deliver financial models, recurring reports, and dashboards that provide insights for decision-making.
  • Partner with analysts and finance managers to identify automation opportunities and implement technology-driven solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Recommend and pilot new ways of visualizing and communicating financial data for clarity and impact at the leadership level.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, data, strategy) to ensure analyses are accurate, relevant, and business-aligned.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and support high-visibility special projects.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (MBA, Master’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field).
  • Strong foundation in financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, and problem-solving, with experience applying these in academic or professional settings.
  • Proficiency with core digital tools — advanced Excel plus exposure to visualization platforms (Tableau/Power BI), collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams), and/or basic coding concepts (SQL/Python/VBA).
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and capacity to learn and apply new financial systems and digital tools (e.g., Oracle EPM, Anaplan).
  • Ability to connect financial and operational data to business strategy and articulate insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and collaboration skills; able to influence and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree program or graduated within the last year
  • Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for internships.
  • Employer does not sponsor work visas for this position.
