About the role

  • EUDR Compliance Specialist ensuring compliance with European Union Deforestation Regulation for Hershey. Managing supply chain data and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate supplier adherence to EUDR criteria, including reviewing GIS analysis, deforestation risk assessments, and remote sensing data /satellite imagery for raw materials.
  • Utilize SAP, Sourcemap, and other relevant tools to monitor purchase orders (POs) and supplier transactions for EUDR compliance.
  • Supplier engagement to ensure timely submission of compliance information.
  • Case management with suppliers to investigate risks identified.
  • Support suppliers to address geospatial validation errors.
  • Documenting due diligence processes and compiling the evidence that justifies the override of false alerts.
  • Execute workflows (where this can include manual data transfer) to integrate findings from Sourcemap, Starling, Airbus Living library satellite imagery, and other third-party traceability tools such as Osapiens.
  • Triaging & escalations to correct stakeholders.
  • Collect, verify, and manage due diligence data packets required for distributor filings.
  • Ensure all necessary sustainability, traceability, and risk assessment documentation is accurate and readily available for external distributor partners.
  • Support procurement, Responsible Sourcing and Sustainability teams in adjusting sourcing strategies to remain compliant with evolving regulatory expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain compliance, sustainability, or regulatory affairs, with a preference for experience in EUDR or similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in SAP or other procurement data management tools, and supply chain traceability or GIS tools such as Sourcemap, Starling, Airbus Living Library, Osapiens.
  • Strong understanding of EUDR compliance requirements, deforestation risk management (including protected area proximity assessment), legality risk assessment and supplier traceability.
  • Experience in data collection and reporting related to sustainability and compliance audits.
  • Proficiency in notable GIS and remote sensing software/platforms (QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine, Starling, Airbus Living Library) & Polygon data validation, extraction and conversion.
  • Proficiency in spatial analysis and satellite image processing and forest change detection.
  • Functional understanding of GIS, GeoJSON structures, and other GIS data formats.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex datasets related to supplier compliance and sustainability risks.
  • Detail-oriented, with experience in data validation and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Experience working with distributors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies on compliance-related processes.
